Refund Applied To December Electric Bill

As a not-for-profit business, Osage Valley Electric Cooperative exists to provide reliable electricity to our member-owners, not to make a profit.  When profits or margins exceed the budget, we can choose to give cash back to our members.  In 2018, due to both extreme winter and summer temperatures, our Co-op experienced those excess margins. At the September 25th board meeting, the directors unanimously voted to refund an estimated $500,000 back to members, on the December electric bill, for kWh’s used from Jan 1– Oct 31, 2018. On your bill, you will notice a line that states “2018 OVEC Refund”, where your portion of the refunded amount has been applied to this month’s electric bill.
