Special Notice! - Payment Option Changes
Submitted on 2010-06-02 by Jana Rosier
IMPORTANT NOTICE
The Federal Trade Commission has issued new regulations in order to protect citizens from fraud and identity theft. These regulations are known as the “Red Flag Rule”. In order for Osage Valley Electric Cooperative to be compliant with these regulations, we will only be able to accept debit/credit card payments and check-by-phone payments using our automated phone system or by going to our website (www.osagevalley.com). Effective July 1, 2010 you will no longer be able to make a payment by writing your credit card number on the payment stub or by calling in and giving your card number/checking information to a “live” person. For security purposes, this information can only be handled by an automated system. For those of you who pay your bill by check, cash, money order, or automatic payment each month, you will not see any changes.
As of July 1st, payments can be made 24 hours a day, 365 days a year by dialing 800-889-6832 or 660-679-3131 and selecting option 1. Members will also be able use the automated system to quickly and easily report outages by selecting option 2.
Osage Valley is constantly working to provide our members not only with reliable electric service but also reliable, secure billing options. We thank you for your cooperation with this transition.
